The new U2 song "Vertigo" is awesome. It's ten times more infectious than "Elevation," which I consider to be one of their catchiest songs, and more raucous than "Beautiful Day," which was one of their rockiest songs until now. And of course, it's got the Bono signature stamped all over it, written in such a way that you won't ever get sick and tired of it ten years down the road. The Edge's riff is said to be "his most aggressive ever," and while its riff does sound like something Delirious would do, it's still laden with his signature delay and very low-key distortion.
Best lines:
Girl with crimson nails has Jesus round her neck
Your love is teaching me how to kneel.
So right now I'm playing it over and over again, so I can finally get the lyrics down pat. It's going to be played over the next couple of months, so I might as well enjoy singing along to it, right?
